About William Gibney
William Gibney earned his Juris Doctorate at the University of Arizona Law School after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Secondary Education. He is a well-known speaker and author who has published dozens of articles on revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, business entity formation, and asset protection. Bill conducts monthly classes on estate planning and asset protection at the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Immediately after law school graduation, Bill served as a trial attorney for the U. S. Department of Justice in Washington, D. C. for three years. He then returned to the Valley to serve as Special Counsel to three Arizona governors before entering private law practice.
Bill has always been active in the community, serving as President for the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Vice President for Power Paws, Inc., and has been active in many other charitable organizations. Bill served on the Arizonans With Disabilities Act Committee to develop state legislation to complement the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Bill is a popular motivational speaker for civic and business organizations. He and his wife, Cheryl Parker, have hosted numerous talk shows on the subject of estate planning on Phoenix radio stations KFNN, KXAM, and KHOT.
Bill is a sports enthusiast, an avid snow skier, and enjoys music and art of all genres.
Bill was inducted into the Sigma Chi Hall of Honor at the University of Arizona in 2009.
About Cheryl Parker
Cheryl Parker is a well-known face to long-time Valley residents. She worked as anchor and reporter on KPNX-TV, Channel 12, for eighteen years. After leaving television news, Cheryl became a partner in a voice recognition software company and launched a new career as a life coach. In 2003, Bill convinced Cheryl to join W. Gibney Law, PLLC, where she uses her research, writing, and life-coaching skills as a paralegal and mediator in the firm.
During her long television career, Cheryl won many awards, including a Rocky Mountain Emmy, and numerous Arizona Press Club and Associated Press awards. Among her most notable assignments, Cheryl interviewed Presidents Gerald Ford and George Bush, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, First Ladies Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan, Roslyn Carter, and Barbara Bush, and hundreds of celebrities.
Cheryl is a cum laude graduate of Baylor University with a degree in music education. She has her pilot’s license and loves singing, playing piano, gardening, and cooking. Most recently, Cheryl has appeared in several local and national television commercials and enjoys acting in community theater.
Bill and Cheryl are both very active at Paradise Valley Community Church, where they are marriage mentors.
